Farsify (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a Farsi language learning application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. Please read this policy carefully. By using Farsify, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and learning preferences (Farsi level, daily goal, transliteration preference). This information is stored securely using Supabase, our backend provider.

Learning Data

We collect data about your learning progress, including lesson completions, vocabulary mastery, quiz scores, streaks, and XP points. This data is used solely to personalize your learning experience and track your progress.

Audio Recordings

When you use the pronunciation practice feature, your voice is recorded temporarily via your device microphone. Audio recordings are sent to our server for speech-to-text transcription (via OpenAI Whisper) and pronunciation evaluation (via Anthropic Claude). Audio recordings are processed in real time and are not stored permanently on our servers.

Conversation Data

When you use the AI conversation tutor feature, your messages are processed by Anthropic Claude to generate responses. Conversation history may be stored temporarily to maintain context within a session but is not used for any purpose other than providing the tutoring service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Farsify learning experience
• Track and display your learning progress
• Generate personalized speech feedback and pronunciation evaluation
• Provide AI-powered conversation practice
• Generate Farsi audio for lessons using text-to-speech
• Improve our app and develop new features
• Communicate with you about your account

4. Third-Party Services

Farsify uses the following third-party services to provide our features:

• Supabase — Secure data storage and authentication
• OpenAI (Whisper) — Speech-to-text transcription for pronunciation practice
• Anthropic (Claude) — Speech evaluation and AI conversation tutor
• ElevenLabs — Text-to-speech audio generation for Farsi content

These services process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase with industry-standard encryption. All API communications use HTTPS. API keys are stored server-side in Supabase Edge Functions and are never exposed to the client application. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time through the Profile screen in the app. When you delete your account, all associated data—including your profile, learning progress, vocabulary data, activity history, and conversation sessions—is permanently deleted from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

7. Children's Privacy

Farsify is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (via in-app account deletion)
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Export your learning data

For GDPR and CCPA compliance: if you are a resident of the European Economic Area or California, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email below.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of Farsify after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
